The Ashton Humidor Story
One of the great names in cigars has now become one of the great names in humidors. Made possible by partnering with Manning of Ireland, acknowledged as master humidor makers around the world, Ashton now participates in the creation and sole distribution of these most exquisite handcrafted humidors.
To fully understand the quality of Ashton Humidors, we go back to 1887, when Terence Manning returned to his native Bagenalstown, Ireland from South Africa, bringing with him a store of knowledge and experience. Upon his return he possessed not only the skills necessary for the crafting of the finest furniture and cabinetry but also the international contacts necessary to locate and purchase the very finest materials available.
Through succeeding generations, his family inherited and refined his craft, maintaining all international contacts and carrying on his tradition. Today, John Harding presides over a new production facility in Bagenalstown, Ireland, and, like his predecessors from the Manning family and beyond, personally maintains the tradition and improves the craft that has now become Ashton Humidors. His sources for materials can be traced back for generations ensuring that the highest quality and most exotic woods remain the foundation of every Ashton Humidor. He is assisted by some of the most skilled craftsmen in Ireland, many of whom have worked with the Manning family for over twenty years. These craftsmen make nothing but humidors and upon examination, one will easily learn why they are so proud of their art.

• Exotic Burl veneers, book-matched with an artistic flair making each humidor unique in appearance
• Highly precise solid brass fittings
• An exquisite depth and luster achieved by individually hand polishing and burnishing each humidor in a forty-stage process
• Unique humidification device offering both functionality and style
A Master Craft
All Ashton Humidors are exquisitely handcrafted in Ireland utilizing traditional techniques and the very finest materials in the world. Both classical styles and contemporary designs are made with the same exacting construction standards that create a timeless quality and appearance, rendering each humidor unique.
“Completing an Ashton Humidor can take as many as 26 weeks. Every hand-fitted joint is seamlessly smooth and all humidors gleam from a 40-step, hand-rubbed velvet-gloss finish. Attention to detail is meticulous. Veneers are selected, book-matched and in-laid by hand, each with an artistic flair providing uniqueness to each humidor. There is a delight in and fascination with the endless variety of wood species available, and to their richness in colors, textures and patterns. Harnessing this fascination, designing with true joy and hand-crafting the Ashton Humidor is a pleasure in skill and craftsmanship.”
